What we do with your data, in plain English.

How profyle.jobs collects, uses and protects your information. Same deal as the Terms. If a salesperson told you something different, this page wins.

We never sell your data

The short version

  • Candidates

We collect what you tell us and a little about how you use the site, to match you and send your applications. We never sell your data and never charge you.

  • Everyone

You can see, correct, export or delete your data from settings, or by emailing us. When you apply, your briefing goes to that employer and stays part of their hiring record.

01

Who we are

Who we are

profyle.jobs is an independent project based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. When you see “profyle”, “we”, “us” or “our” below, that’s who you’re sharing your data with. When you see “you”, that’s whoever is reading the site or signed in to an account.

This page covers what we do with your information. The agreement that governs using the site is the Terms of use. This is the data half of the same deal.

02

What we collect

What we collect

We try to collect the least we can to do the job. It falls into three buckets.

  • Things you give us: your account details (name, email), and the preferences, CV and answers you write as a candidate.

  • Things we measure: basic usage like pages viewed, your browser and device, and an approximate location from your IP address, through privacy-respecting analytics.

03

How we use it

How we use your data

We use your information to match you to roles, to build and send the briefing to employers you apply to, and to run, secure and improve the site. We also use it where the law requires.

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t train AI models on your profile, CV or briefing. Matching happens to serve you, not to build a product out of you.

04

Sharing

Who we share it with

  • The employer you apply to: when you apply, your briefing goes to that employer. That’s the point of profyle, and it only happens when you choose to apply.

  • Service providers: hosting, email delivery, payments and analytics. They’re bound by contract and only get what they need to do their part.

  • When the law requires it: a valid legal request, or to protect someone’s safety.

Never sold, never rented, never handed to advertisers.

05

Cookies

Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and the site working, and privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate. No third-party advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser any time. A few features, like staying signed in, need them to work.

06

Retention

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. Delete your account from settings and your candidate profile is removed. Two honest exceptions:

  • Applications you’ve already sent stay with the employer who received them; they’re part of that employer’s hiring record.

  • We keep minimal financial and legal records for as long as the law requires us to.

07

Your rights

Your rights & control

You can access, correct, export or delete your data: most of it directly from your settings, the rest by emailing hello@profylejobs.com. We’ll action requests within a reasonable time.

You have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you think we’ve mishandled your data and we can’t resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

08

Contact

Changes & contact

If we change this policy we’ll update the date below, and for anything material we’ll let account holders know. Continuing to use profyle after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Privacy questions, data requests or takedowns: hello@profylejobs.com. We aim to respond within 3 business days. For the rules of using the site, see the Terms of use.
